The Leibenberg vineyard is the central point of the vines of Alzinger. Located on the Danube bend between Dürnstein and Weissenkirchen, it’s here that cooler air from the northwest accumulates and cools the vicinity, allowing for a slow ripening period and retention of vital acidity.
As the vineyard progresses, amphibolites and mica slate replace gneiss as the dominant parent rock, which changes the style of the wines. In the upper part of the Liebenberg, where the Alzinger vineyards are located, the soils are more compact in structure, bringing a tautness to the wines.

CRITIC RATINGS
"Juicy, elegant, white stone fruit, fresh acidity, well-balanced, with a touch of pear on the finish. A multifaceted food accompaniment with good ageing potential." (Peter Moser, Weinguide Österreich 2022/23)94-96 Falstaff
On the nose there is a refreshing, saline undertone which is lifted by pepper spice and fruity green apple and white peach notes. The palate is fresh and clean, influenced by those reflective cooler climates, giving a mix of firm but refreshing acidity, powerful mineral depth and well-defined fruit precision.
Pairs well with pork or veal schnitzel and fried vegetables
