Classification: 1ÖTW (Premier Cru)
The terraced vineyards are on south and southwest facing slopes with a unique geological history. The bedrock consists of a reddish-brown sandstone with loess only present in a few shallow depressions.
The grapes were biodynamically grown grapes under the Respekt certification. They were harvested in October and subject to whole bunch pressing and fermentation with natural yeasts. Maturation took place in both stainless steel tanks and large oak barrels.
The wine rested on the lees until middle of May prior to bottling at the end of July and release in September 2021.
The 2020 vintage began with a rather dry, mild winter, followed by a dry start of spring. The summer remained moderately warm, but very humid resulting in a classic Hirsch year – giving wines of lively acidity, low alcohol levels and clear, fine fruit.

The nose is refined and delicate, with a wide range of aromas from basil to mandarin orange. On the palate the flavours build slowly before wave after wave of minerality washes over the mouth, each mightier than the last, leaving a refreshing yet powerful wine worthy of any dinner table.
Pairs with a range of seafood, shellfish and pasta dishes.
