Rosso e Nero is the Admiral’s little brother. But despite being dubbed as the ‘second’ wine, this label has its very own distinct character and has demonstrated its strengths again and again by receiving countless awards.
The many different grape varieties that go into Rosso e Nero grow on a mixture of gravel, sand, and heavy clay. The 2019 vintage is a blend of Zweigelt (60%), Merlot (15%), Cabernet Sauvignon (15%), Blaufränkisch (10%)
Before bottling, the wine matured in 60% new and 40% used barriques for 18 months.

CRITIC RATINGS
93 FalstaffOn the nose, aromas of spicy dark berries dominate, with a touch of dark nougat, candied orange zest, and wood smoke. On the palate the wine is juicy and elegant, with ripe cherry fruit, well integrated fine tannins, and a minerally nutty aftertaste. Like its big brother, the wine has plenty of ageability.
Pairs well with pot roasts, including beef and root vegetables.
